Do i have to sign up with a Postal Vendor in order to be able to print postage Labels?

I do not want to sign-up for the paid postage vendors like stamps.com so was wondering if there is an alternative solution to to printing self-adhesive postage labels. Currently i am printing labels on regular paper via the USPS "click-n-ship" feature but the labels come out too big and does not fit on the the boxes i’m trying to ship. Anyone can shed some light on this? Thanks!
i have paypal already and the postmaster told me when shrinking the labels they dont work on the postal services standarized bar coding system so thats not an option.

Does anyone use Stamps.com?

I am trying to find a efficient way to send out our postage at work.. we have a small business building and I started to look into Stamps.com. I was just wondering if anyone uses it and could tell me what they think about it. Do you have to print the stamps off on a little scale machine they give you or can you print it off on your computer printer?

What do you like about it?
What do you dislike about it?

Thanks ahead of time!

Can I use modern US official stamps

DM50 Franking Machine video

www.pitneyworks.co.uk This short video demonstrates the benefits of the Pitney Bowes DM50 franking machine. The DM50 franking machine, with its built-in scale, lets you weigh your items and calculates the postage for you at the touch of a button. You’ll pay the exact postage every time. And you can even print a promotional message and/or return address on every envelope you send. By using a Pitney Bowes DM50 franking machine you’ll increase productivity and reduce postage costs. Remember, you can save up to 11% of your mailing costs by switching to franked mail. As of April 2009 franking machine users pay substantially less for every item they send.

Figuring Out Postage For A Booklet?

It’s about a 10-12 page booklet that I want to send to a few people. It is just regular printing paper folded in half. I was wondering, do I need to put it in an envelope of can I just tape up the sides and write and put stamps on the blank back side? Also, how do I figure out how many stamps I need to put on it? I have no way to weigh it without going to the post office…what is the best way to guesstimate?

stamps.com vs dymo?

I have a twin turbo dymo label writer which prints postage and labels. I recently read about stamps.com, I was wondering if anyone has used them and if so, has it saved money? I’m trying to decide if it would be cheaper to keep the dymo & print the postage or just use stamps.com, any input would be great! Thanks! :)

Do I have to get a tracking number when I sell on ebay?

I want to sell stickers on ebay, they are very light and when shipped through the USPS I can just place them in a envelope with a stamp and that costs me about 44 cents. But if I use a tracking number with postage printed through paypal it cost me about .41. Can I ship them using the envelope and stamps method? What happens if the buyer claims they didn’t receive the item? I wouldn’t have any proof of delivery since I don’t have a tracking number. Thanks.
